A salute to Captain Hillery

In the world of triathlons, some athletes are in it for the sheer joy of the sport. Some are in it for the money.
Captain Robert Hillery of the U.S. Marine Corps competes for an entirely different reason.
With every event he competes in, Captain Hillery raises money for the Semper Fi Fund, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing financial assistance to wounded Marines and other members of the Armed Forces recovering from injuries received while defending our freedom.
Here’s a guy who doesn’t profit from running, swimming, or biking. His only goal is helping the many wounded warriors who return from the battlefield with traumatic, life-changing injuries – the kind most of us will, thankfully, never know.
Amway is supporting Captain Hillery by providing him with Nutrilite Endurance Cubes, which he relies on during training and competition, to give him the energy he needs to go the distance. Turns out a friend here at Amway gave him a box of Endurance Cube pouches, and he’s been a devoted fan ever since.
We’re especially proud that Captain Hillery was named the U.S. Marine Corps Male Athlete of the Year. That year, he competed in more than 37 running and triathlon events during 2009.
One invitation-only, individual ultra-endurance event involved swimming 6.2 miles, biking 170 miles, and running 52.4 miles (a double marathon) over two days. Captain Hillery finished 10th out of 32 competitors, with a total race time of 28 hours, 29 minutes, and 44 seconds.
Talk about putting your heart and soul into a goal! Such is the power of positive, Captain Robert Hillery-style.
All of us at Amway salute you, sir.
