I always find spending the day at Nutrilite enjoyable and impressive. How could you not be amazed by the state-of-the-art facilities, the expertise in nutritional science and the caring and positive culture of the people? Of course, being responsible for Nutrition & Wellness Marketing for Amway North America, I might be a little biased.
So seeing Nutrilite through someone else’s eyes is fascinating, especially when that someone happens to be former professional football and our brand spokesperson, Kurt Warner. I had the privilege of spending the day at the Nutrilite Center for Optimal Health with Kurt, his wife Brenda and their oldest daughter Jesse. We all went through a comprehensive health assessment including blood work, Inherent Health Genetic Tests, and a fitness test. We also toured the facility, Kurt and his family spoke to employees and answered questions, and they met with Research Scientist Micheline Vargas and other Nutrilite experts.
I knew Kurt had researched our brand well before he became our spokesperson so I expected him to be enthusiastic about his experience here. But I think even his expectations were exceeded. He explained that he’s worked with a lot of companies and would never represent anything he didn’t believe in. That’s obvious from Kurt’s character and from the fact that he’s the kind of spokesperson who would take a day out of his busy schedule to immerse himself in the Nutrilite brand, get to know the people behind it, and better understand the philosophy we represent. Amway, according to Kurt, is the best company he’s ever worked with, from the people to the products.
Brenda Warner also shared that she was impressed by the fact that everyone she met at Nutrilite is focused on making a positive difference in other people’s lives. She and Kurt believe strongly in striving to be “game changers,” people who focus outside of themselves and look to change the world for the better in any way, big or small, they can. They raise their children with this philosophy and they strive to associate with “game changers” in every area of their lives. Which says a great deal about their decision to partner with Amway and Nutrilite.
It’s an honor to work for a company that is definitely a “game changer.” And we are fortunate to have found a partner in Kurt Warner who lives this philosophy, recognizes it in what we do, and inspires it in others. I think after today, Kurt might just have a little Nutrilite bias too.
Everybody loves a good rags-to-riches story, and NFL and Super Bowl MVP Kurt Warner’s story is truly inspiring.
No one who sees Kurt today, as in-studio analyst for NFL Network and new spokesperson for the Nutrilite brand, would ever guess this is a man who’s seen more than a few struggles along the way.
He didn’t start on his college team until senior year. Was never drafted by the NFL. Played arena football for a couple seasons, and also played in Europe.
At one point, he was actually bagging groceries to make ends meet.
All it took was one chance to get Kurt on the path to success, as starting quarterback for the faltering St. Louis Rams. From there, he never looked back, helping the Rams win the Super Bowl, and then eventually taking the Arizona Cardinals to their first-ever Super Bowl appearance.
For Amway Independent Business Owners – and really, for all of us – Kurt represents the ultimate inspiration. He works hard every single day. He struggled to get past a lot of rejection, and a lot of naysayers. He persevered against the odds – and ultimately, he was successful.
On top of that, Kurt never lost his nice-guy attitude.
He sat across from me on the Amway corporate jet on the way to Phoenix to promote his association with Nutrilite with national news outlets like Fox Business News and CNBC.
There he was, dressed in sweats, as normal a guy as could possibly be, talking football, and his wonderful wife, Brenda, and their seven kids (seven!), including one with special needs.
He’s as devoted a husband and father as I’ve ever seen. Viewers of ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars” will remember he rushed over to kiss Brenda in the audience after completing every single dance. Somehow, it never looked corny when he did it.
If I hadn’t met the guy myself, I’d think it was all made up. And yes, I was a little bit star-struck to meet him.
But I quickly discovered what everyone finds out when they meet Kurt Warner: He’s the real deal.
And we’re extremely proud he’s representing our Nutrilite brand.
It’s rare these days to find a pro football player who’s made a name for himself because of his good behavior. Someone who’s a real hero, both on and off the field.
One such guy is NFL and Super Bowl MVP Kurt Warner, who quarterbacked the St. Louis Rams to a victory in Super Bowl XXXIV.
Some players would have stopped right then and there and called it a career. Not Kurt. Instead, he led the Rams to two more playoff appearances, including another Super Bowl, and received Pro Bowl honors for three consecutive years.
Oh, and did I mention he then went on to play for the Arizona Cardinals, where, against all odds, he led the team to their first-ever Super Bowl berth?
Even after retiring from football, Kurt is a true hero. He and his wife Brenda established the First Things First Foundation, a non-profit public charity dedicated to impacting lives by promoting Christian values, sharing experiences, and providing opportunities to encourage everyone that all things are possible when people seek to put “first things first.”
Definitely not your average NFL quarterback.
No wonder Amway has just signed Kurt Warner as the first pro football player to represent Nutrilite® – the world’s leading brand of vitamin, mineral and dietary supplements. We share so many of the same values: A commitment to a healthy lifestyle, and the idea of making a positive difference in people’s lives.
We’re also making a $50,000 donation to Kurt’s First Things First Foundation, because we recognize great goals when we see them.
Kurt’s a shining example of how to inspire others while striving for optimal health, in mind, body, and spirit.
And, as fans of “Dancing With the Stars” already know, his quick-step isn’t half-bad either!
We’re ultra-proud to have Kurt representing Nutrilite products for us. Couldn’t have asked for a more valuable player.
