When you were a kid, did you ever meet a sports hero in person?
Then you understand how 45 San Diego kids felt when they met two-time FIFA World Player of the Year Ronaldinho!
The kids – ages 9-13 – were chosen by the San Diego chapter of the Boys and Girls Clubs and youth soccer clubs to participate in a clinic on Friday, June 4, hosted by the soccer superstar, and assisted by University of San Diego men’s soccer team Assistant Coach Brian Quinn.
Three separate stations focused on specific soccer skills: possession-oriented exercise, shooting, and crossing/finishing. At each station, Ronaldinho showed the kids tips and techniques, and signed autographs.
According to one kid who was there, just one word described the experience: “AWESOME!”
Ronaldinho is a spokesman for NUTRILITE®, which sponsors his AC Milan team. NUTRILITE is the world’s leading brand of vitamin, mineral, and dietary supplements, based on 2009 sales.
This weekend, Amway Global has some exciting events planned! Grab a group of friends and head for Petco Park, home of the Padres, in San Diego. We’ll be there May 29 – June 1 promoting phytonutrients and of course, watching some baseball.
At Petco Park, you can walk through the NUTRILITE Mobile Brand Experience (MoBE), where guests will learn how NUTRILITE can help fill phytonutrient gaps with plant-based nutritional supplements. And don’t forget – if you’re a San Diego resident, you can bring in your current multivitamin bottle and swap it for a free full-size bottle of NUTRILITE Daily Multivitamin.
If that’s not enough to get you through the gates, Miss America 2010, Caressa Cameron, will be joining us on Memorial Day. We expect her to stop by the MoBE from around 5 – 6 p.m. She’ll then sing the National Anthem before the first pitch at 7:05 p.m. and “God Bless America” during the seventh inning stretch. NUTRILITE is also sponsoring the post-game fireworks.
You can follow us on Facebook and Twitter for up-to-the-minute details. As you can tell, it’s not just another day at the ballpark. It’s a chance to have a great time and help promote the important benefits of a diet rich in colorful fruits and veggies. I see that as a win-win-win situation. Hope you have a great time at the ballpark and enjoy your Memorial Day weekend!
