Artistry Beauty Skincare Recommender

Take the guess work out of choosing the perfect product for your skin type. Customizing your beauty routine just got easier.

Introducing the Artistry Beauty Skincare Recommender. Discover your individual beauty anytime – anywhere – whether you’re on the run or in the comfort of your own home. Simply download the app and answer the skincare consultation survey to receive detailed information about the product that’s right for your skin. You can also browse the beauty insider library to help optimize your skin’s appearance and watch informative videos about the Artistry brand and products.

Since its debut in February, the Artistry Beauty app has already received 3,500 downloads and more than 24,000 surveys have been completed. Exclusively for our Independent Business Owners and registered customers, the app is currently available on the U.S. iTunes store and will roll out to our global affiliates throughout 2011.

New year, new you

Harnessing the optimism of new year, Amway Philippines recently kicked-off the “New You Health and Beauty Summit” at Market! Market! in Taguig. The four-city brand exposition tour, designed to educate Amway distributors about our Nutrilite and Artistry brands, shared the latest nutrition, wellness, skincare and makeup trends.  The events are designed to empower our distributors to be ambassadors for our health and beauty brands.

Attendees have their blood pressure, Body Mass Index (BMI) and cholesterol checked by health practitioners, as well as recieve free nutrition counseling. Four wellness professionals also are on hand to explain how easy it is to incorporate physical activities into  daily routines.

Next, distributors learn how to put their best face foward every day.  Artistry’s Chief Makeup Artist, Victor Ortega, shared some simple tips on how makeup can be used to enhance natural beauty. And professional fashion and image consultant, Olen Lim, discussed how to let one’s inner beauty shine. 

The summit’s tour  will conclude in Davao on February 26.

Former Miss America ties

Long before Amway North America and Artistry built a relationship with the Miss America Organization, our co-founders built a lasting friendship with another Miss America.

Last year during my assignment with Artistry at the Miss America Pageant, I had the pleasure of meeting Maria Fletcher, Miss America 1962.  Maria appeared at Amway conventions with Jay Van Andel and Rich DeVos decades ago. 

This video, taken at the Former Miss America Press Conference, captures Maria reminiscing about her relationship with Amway.

We think you’ll “like” this

Until last week, if you wanted to find Amway brands on Facebook, you had to poke around a bit.

Many of our Amway affiliates host their own Facebook pages and some have launched Nutrilite and Artistry pages as well.  One has even developed a Facebook game.

But now you have a simple way to connect with our brands on Facebook through four new global brand pages for Amway, Artistry, eSpring and Nutrilite.   From these “home bases” you can reach our affiliate Facebook pages for in-market and in-language updates and information.

Blogging beauties

Word of mouth – it’s how you found out about the free giveaway at your favorite makeup counter or the shiny new, imited edition, can’t-live-without-it lip gloss.

And it’s how bloggers are helping us spread the word about our beauty brand, Artistry. Recently, some of our affiliates around the world have invited media personalities and beauty mavens to special events to “talk beauty” and educate them about our latest line of skin care and colour cosmetics.

Our beauty team in Malaysia invited five bloggers to the Khareyana Spa, PJ to discover the benefits of Artistry Time Defiance products. Amway Hong Kong hosted a press trip to Beijing for the Artistry Fall/Winter Makeup Show featuring makeup artist, Zing. The event was organized by Amway China. As the official skin care and cosmetics provider of the Miss America Organization, our North American affiliate flew bloggers to Las Vegas to watch the Miss America Pageant and pampered them with Artistry products.

This snapshot is only a taste of how we’ve spread the Artistry word around the world. How would you spread the word?

Test drive

Each year Amway hosts more than 100 interns in departments from accounting to research and development.

For us, it’s a way to get fresh insights and brain power on a wide range of projects.  For the interns, it’s an opportunity to gain experience and test drive a job or future employer.

One recent intern shared her experience at Business Week’s MBA Blog.  Lorena Sanchez Garcia, who interned this summer in Amway’s beauty marketing division, shared how her education prepared her for a successful internship and how her internship confirmed her career choice.

“From beginning to end, I’m thankful for my internship. It confirmed that beauty is my true calling,” she writes.

What’s going on in Gurgaon

Coming off the heels of last month’s news of a new special needs school in Gurgaon, India, Amway has opened its first Health and Beauty Brand Experience Center there. The 10th  in the country, the center is situated in MGF Mega City Mall, one of Gurgaon’s newest and sleekest shopping destinations. This prominent location will help the new 17,000-square-foot facility attract savvy consumers seeking the latest advances in skin care, cosmetics, nutrition and wellness, as well as provide ample training space to Amway distributors.

Tendenze and curiosita

Around the world, Amway has found bellezza (beauty) in blogging.

This week, Amway Italy’s Your Beauty  joins a blossoming list of blogs focused on sharing the Artistry brand’s secrets of skin care and color cosmetics.

Your Beauty joins Amway Korea’s Artistry blog and Amway North America’s Beauty Editor blog, both launched earlier this year.  Your Beauty will focus on tendenze (trends) and curiosita (breaking news and fun facts), as well as provide tips and interviews with beauty experts.

Coming from the home of Armani, Versace and some of the world’s most recognized names in fashion, beauty and textiles, we can’t wait to get our eyes on the insight and advice our Italian colleagues are sure to share.

Icing on the (wedding) cake

If you’re a fan of figure skating, you likely know Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo, the Chinese pair that struck gold in Vancouver last February.

They’ve been skating together in international competition for nearly 20 years. And once again all eyes will be on them tomorrow evening in Beijing for ARTISTRY on Ice an event sponsored by ARTISTRY Cosmetics and Amway China.

This could be one of their most meaningful performances – it’s certainly not a routine. The couple will exchange wedding vows on the ice Saturday night surrounded by a line-up of figure skating superstars and in front of their adoring fans. 

There’s been lots of excitement and buzz surrounding the show. If you’re lucky enough to be attending you’ll experience a once in a lifetime event, and you’ll be able to see the ARTISTRY brand zone on site.
