It’s not every day that a beauty queen passes through our World Headquarters to say hello and give a piano performance, but yesterday, that’s exactly what happened.
Employees rolled out the red carpet to welcome Miss America 2011 Teresa Scanlan to our hometown. As the brand ambassador for Artistry, the official skincare and cosmetics sponsor of the Miss America Organization, Teresa is here to learn more about Amway, Artistry and the science behind one of the world’s top five, largest selling, premium skincare brands in the world.*

Often the simplest ideas are the most powerful, like using color as a guide for eating the right mix of fruits and vegetables. That’s an idea Nutrilite pioneered last year with the release of America’s Phytonutrient report and the launch of the Phytonutrient Spectrum.
Now that idea has gone global, and Amway Markets around the world have adopted Nutrilite’s daily dose of color campaign.
Here’s what some of them are up to:
- Amway Malaysia launched a Facebook game a few weeks ago that challenges players to create healthy salads for choosy customers. Between filling orders, players are served up tips and facts about how eating a colorful diet can help improve health and wellness.
- Amway Singapore held the Nutrilite Walk and Optimal Health Carnival. People committed to eating fruits and vegetables by signing a Color Yourself Healthy mural and then took part in a variety of fitness activities – aerobics, kickboxing, and hip hop dancing – and had free health evaluations.
- Earlier this month Amway North America was in Denver, Colorado participating in the latest Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon event. Miss America, Caressa Cameron, and Denver Broncos Quarterback, Brady Quinn were on hand to talk about the benefits of eating a colorful mix of fruits and vegetables.
So no matter where you are, keep an eye out for Nutrilite’s Phytonutrient Spectrum, and use it to color your world with a healthy diet.
New Miss America Caressa Cameron spent the day getting to know Artistry, the official skin care and cosmetics brand of Miss America.
Caressa toured our Welcome Center, visited Artistry’s R&D labs, and spent time with Amway Global employees this afternoon.

They say there are six degrees of separation between each of us and every other person on the planet.
Likewise, there are often unusual connections between organizations and causes. Or in this case, organizations and pancakes.
Today is National Pancake Day. And there’s a real connection between us and this celebration of the griddled breakfast treat.
That’s because for National Pancake Day, every iHop restaurant is giving away pancakes in return for donations to the Children’s Miracle Network. Our connection is that the signature cause for new Miss America Caressa Cameron is the Children’s Miracle Network. Amway Global and Artistry are proud sponsors of the Miss America Organization and Caressa is now an Artistry spokesperson. And the local Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, along with dozens of other children’s hospitals nationwide, benefits from Children’s Miracle Network support.
And that’s a connection worth celebrating with a short stack. Pass the syrup!
Miss America, Kristen Haglund, blogged this week about the Amway Global Teen Wellness Leader Search at the Miss America blog.
In addition, Haglund issued a news release as Miss America promoting the scholarship competition and urging people to recognize the teens they know who are making a difference in the health of their communities and asking teens to nominate themselves for recognition.
