Amway people in Turkey are safe
Because the reach of Amway is so global, a disaster on the other side of the world often impacts our employees and distributors.
Last week, a 7.2 magnitude earthquake shook the eastern area of Turkey in the Van region, killing as many as 600 people.
We recently confirmed that all Amway employees and Amway Business Owners (ABOs) are safe. Some had to stay in their cars for a short time for fear of aftershocks, but have now returned to their homes.
The epicenter was just 30 kilometers from two preschools that were built last year with funds from Amway Business Owners (ABOs) and employees in Europe.
Fortunately, we also confirmed that the preschools were not impacted.
Amway is making a donation to the Turkish Red Crescent Society (Red Cross), and is helping to raise funds in other countries in Europe to help with immediate needs.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to our friends in Turkey as they rebuild their community and their lives.
