Vintage, Boho or Classic – It’s All About Boots!

I know what you’re thinking – “It’s way too early to be thinking about fall clothes.  What about the 80 degree weather we’re still having?!” Well… maybe.  But there is one fall item that I am always guaranteed to be more excited about than anything else.  BOOTS! I just can’t wait!

I definitely find ways to incorporate boots into my summer wardrobe as well, but there are just so many more choices come autumn.  Stacked heels, riding boots, slouchy suede, lace-up, ankle, sleek leather.  Ahh… I get goosebumps even thinking about Macy’s boot section.

You will be seeing the stacked heel just about everywhere.  The pointier heels are still there, but many have added detail like laces or tassles.  Slouchy suede boots can be paired with anything from a long, toasty wool cardi or a flowy floral fall dress.  Best part about 2011 Fall boots?  Just about every shoe retailer has been bitten by the bug.  You can find a great pair for $40, right along with the $700 dollar dream pair!

Put that little black dress away.  I’d like to introduce our new friend, Roy – Roy G. Biv, that is!

This fall, don’t expect only typical cool weather neutrals to invade.  Solid, bright, and vibrant rainbow colors will be saturating everything from your evening out ensembles to your day to day work wear.  The runways, hottest celebs and fashionistas of the world have already embraced this bold look.  If you aren’t ready to take the all-bright plunge, try mixing a colorful pant with a classic black top.  Eye catching accessories can also liven up the staple pieces in your autumn wardrobe.  A splash of lemon yellow bangles or a lime green pair of pumps can give life to a drab dress or your last season, yet favorite, pair of charcoal dress pants.

Are you ready to meet Roy?

Going Nautical

Nautical, yacht-inspired looks are hot this season and the trend is carrying on through the fall season too. Navy, sailor stripes, and clean crisp white airy fabrics are not just for a trip to the French Riviera. Makeup compliments this style with a bold classic feel and casual whimsy details.

As with all fashion trends it is best to choose one centerpiece and compliment with your own classic items.  For instance, a navy military inspired coat with gold buttons is your trend piece.  Pair it with your favorite pair of jeans, a white classic tank or T-shirt, neutral flats, gold bangles, and hoop earrings to accessorize.

This goes for your makeup too.   The main statement in the nautical look is the crimson lips, and all the other makeup should be paired down, sheer, classic, and easy.

Use a color like Rouge, Beaute, or Stunning Artistry Lip Colour as the highlight for your lips.  Apply with your favorite liner for a bold look, or alone to just stain your lips.

Compliment your glowing skin with Artistry essentials Mineral Foundation it gives sheer lightweight coverage and an airy luminous finish to your skin.

Define your eyes with Capri or Steel Artistry Eye Colours brushed lightly over your lash line, or wet the shadow with Artistry essentials Eyeliner Brush and line your eyes for a more polished look.  Finish the eyes with a few strokes of Artistry essentials Mascara.

Lastly give a slight glow to your cheek bones with Rosewood Artistry Cheek Colour.  It gives just enough flush to your cheeks to look like you’ve just been slightly windblown.

Make the nautical style your own. Just keep it easy and fresh with simple classic pieces, and bright bold lips.  It’s a look great for everyday, a night on the town, and really never goes out of style!

Whether you are a "girly girl" or not, there is nothing more flattering than a romantic, young and fresh palette.  Pink, purple, rose and shimmer all work together to create an amorous and youthful ambience. Our fall trend collection includes a palette that is perfect for just that.  The Inspiration Palette includes 3 shimmery eye and an equally as enchanting cheek color.  Our model, Cassie (new beauty marketing intern!), gave us an incredible canvas to work with.

- Amaze (shimmery white) was applied all over Cassie's lid and up along the brow bone
- Destiny (pink/purple) was then blended over the lid and extended past the corner of the eye and along the lower lash line
- A fine line of Fate (blue/purple) was swept along the upper and lower lash line
- Cassie's lashes were coated with two coats of Ultimate Blue Mascara
- A light dusting of Alive (pink blush) was applied to Cassie's cheeks
- To finish, her lips were coated with Soft Pink Lip Gloss

The great part about this look is that all of the products included are available in the Fall Trend Collection, including the fantastic kabuki brush that comes with the palette.

Here are a few fall trends that we think this look would look sensational with!

Damask prints, wide-leg trousers, feminine floral dresses, and ballerina buns are all going to be hot this fall!

Look #3 – The Modern Smokey Eye

It seems like it's just about impossible to avoid the "smokey eye" these days.  It's the perfect evening eye look for just about every occasion and, if done correctly, looks stunning ANY time of day!

FIRST, I'm going to give you 3 big "no no's" of this look.

Things to avoid with Smokey Eyes:
1) Not blending.  Always, always blend so that the deep color blends with the lighter color which THEN blends with your skin.  This gives it an air of romance and not of harshness (you know what I'm talking about!)
2) Using all one dark eye color shade.  Make sure to use a a lighter shade and blend the deeper shade over time.  Plain black eyelids can make you look tired and even a little scary!
3) Taking the deep color all the way to your brow line.  Blend the color into your crease and no higher!  This keeps the dimension and sophistication

How to pull it off flawlessly!:

Luba swept Charm eye colour from lash line to brow bone.  She then blended Steel from lash line into the crease and also along the lower lash line.  She repeated step 2 and applied Eclipse over Steel for a moden effect.  She added some more drama by lining her upper lash line with Steel as well.  Her brow bone and inner eye were highlighted with Starry Night.  Her lashes were coated in Total Mascara.  To complete the look, her cheeks were swept with Pink Passion cheek colour and her lips got a sweep of Subdued Lip Color and glossed with Fall Trend's Soft Pink Lip Gloss.

Sanaz definitely has a Smokey Eye done right!  It accentuates her already gorgeous eyes without being TOO much.

Which of our beautiful new shades are you excited to try the smokey eye with?

               fall 2010 collection

Romantic, sophisticated and glamorous.  The Fall 2010 Reflective Beauty Collection conveys it all.  This collection encompasses both the vintage and modern and allows you to take your look to exciting new places!

The two new palette names – Perfection and Inspiration – couldn't be more suitable.  They both step out of the safe zone, and let you choose your level of stand out color.  Light washes of warm pastel glow or dark sweeps of cool intense pigment.

The lip color covers both ends of the spectrum – a shimmery pink and a vibrant and sheer red.  Both shades can be taken from day to night and retain the same wow factor.

The collection also includes one of the hottest trends out there – a rich navy mascara.  The possibilities with a deep blue lash frame are endless.  Not only flattering with all eye color shades, the blue tone whitens and brightens your eyes.

5 more days!  Can you stand it?
