I have my appointment with my hairstylist later this week and am thinking about my new hair color for fall. I am tired of the light, breezy summer hair color and plan on going with a warmer, richer color this fall season. That starts a whole new thought process for makeup and skin care changes that I will need to make.
I love the smokiness for the eyes that is back again this fall but have been noticing a difference in that the smoky looks are not necessarily done with black, deep brown or dark grey. The smokiness for eyes is being done with soft browns, taupe and soft grey. The liner is more defined on the upper lid but less on the bottom lid and of course, the brows are more groomed and a little fuller then they were in the spring.
Blushes are more mauve and have a little shine and lip color is more toned down in brightness but richer in color.
Skin care changes for fall are key because it won’t be long before the drier days of winter are upon us. The changes we make in our fall routine make the transition into winter less stressful on your skin. Now is a great time to evaluate your exfoliation routine and maybe use a peel type product such as Artistry intensive skincare renewing peel that will prevent having that dull looking skin we get in the winter months. Another great option is using the 14-day Artistry Time Defiance Intensive Repair Serum. This treatment you will apply every night for 14 days, after you cleanse and tone with the Artistry Time Defiance Skincare System that is suited to your skin type and the effects will last up to 4 months. It gives your skin a great boost and provides some of the most effective anti-aging ingredients available today.
Take another look at your moisturizers. The lighter formulas may not be enough for fall or winter. You may need to change from a lotion to a cream formula.
Check your foundation colors. For an easy transition from summer to fall to winter, mix your summer, darker foundation color with your winter, lighter foundation color to gradually move from summer to fall. This can be done by mixing a drop of each color on the back of your hand until you get the right shade then applying it to your face with a sponge or foundation brush like the one available in the Artistry Brush Set that is offered with the new fall collection.
Fall is also a great time to clean out your cosmetic bag. I treat my makeup like prized family heirlooms but I have to learn to let things go. That bubble gum pink lip color needs to be put away until your tropical winter vacation comes around.
So, as I think about my new hair color for fall, I can’t wait to try some of the new fall looks that are in the magazines. I hate to see summer go but I am excited for fall and all of the changes it brings!
