Welcome the ice, snow, and cool air by saying hello to winter eyes!  Get bright, romantic, and smoky eye looks designed by Gina Roth for Artistry.  Winter is the perfect time of year to play up those gorgeous gazers with beautiful new eye looks.

Bright Eyes

Go bright with Artistry Starry Night Eye Colour applied over the entire eyelid, sweep Drift in the crease, and finish with Artistry Automatic Eyeliner in Ebony.  Apply the eyeliner only over the top of your eyelid very close to the lash line, and leave the bottom bare.  This will create the look of bright, fresh, and awake eyes.

Subtle Green Eyes

Get soft romantic green eyes with Artistry Silk Eye Colour over the entire eyelid.   Secondly, lightly brush Eden Eye Colour above the crease blending well.  Then, apply Rain Forest focusing the on the inner crease only.   Use Espresso Automatic Eyeliner Pencil on the lower lash line and layer Shimmer Black Eyeliner over the upper eyelid creating dimension and definition.

Smoky Rose Eyes

Begin by applying Artistry Charm Eye Colour all over the eye from lash to brow as your base.  Sweep Drift in the crease and blend the shadow in an upward motion.  Then, use Spiral Eye Colour directly into the crease, and blend well giving it a gradient effect.  Apply Exquisite on the outer half of lid, and Fusion to the inner half of the eyelid.  Bring this smoky look all together with Bronze Automatic Eyeliner applied along the lower lash line.

Tips and Tricks

  • Winter eyes will look complete and even better with perfectly defined brows.  It creates a lifting effect to your eyes, and with defined brows you will not need to use as much eye makeup.
  • Keep an eye cream in your purse to apply under the eye area.   This will refresh your makeup before friendly get-togethers or New Year festivities.  It will hydrate the skin under the eyes making it appear bright and less tired without having to reapply or redo your makeup.  Artistry recently launched Crème Luxury Eye will hydrate, firm, and helps your skin act up to 15 years younger!

Play up those winter eyes with great Artistry looks for the chilly season.

Creating the ultimate evening smokey eye is not an easy task.  In all honesty, it takes (A LOT of) practice.  This isn’t your everyday 1-2 step eye look, but totally worth it if you want an eye with some serious WOW effect. Step by step, this is how you can create your own look.

- You have to start with a smooth base.  I wrote about a great mixture for an eye base in a past blog – Mix a little bit of your foundation, a little concealer, and a bit of moisturizer for sensitive skin (your eyelids are delicate!)  This will create even tone, a sturdy base and a smooth application for shadow when used on the lids.

- Next – apply a light base shadow to the whole lid, and just under the brow bone.

- Use a fluffy, soft eye shadow brush to apply a deep shade of either gray or blue.  You are going to run this over your lid, through the crease and blend into the corners.  Sometimes it helps to take a clean eyeshadow brush and blend over the edges of the shadow to make it less harsh.

- Take a shimmery white/champagne eye colour to the inner corners of your eye.

- Next – take your liner brush and blend a black eye color into the lash line.  Make sure to go over it a few times to deepen the color and soften the line.  This will intensify the look of your lashes and give you some faux length!

- Take a larger eye shadow brush and add some of the black eye color to the outer corners of your lid.  This adds serious dimension.

- Run a black liner along the upper and lower lash line.  Smudge the lower lash line well.

- Take some of the base color you used (gray or dark blue) and run it lightly along the lower lashline. Blend.

- Finally… mascara!  Black, of course. Coat those lashes to sultry perfection.

And please remember, with a smokey eye, less of the rest of your makeup is best.  Light blush, neutral lips.

To spice up this look, you may even want to try a green or a purple in place of the gray or blue!

Post your looks, ladies!!
