Are you a runner? I’m not, but I still appreciate what our spokeswoman Kara Goucher was able to do yesterday in Boston. She was with the lead pack all day but in a very fast race couldn’t quite summon up enough final fuel to get that much wanted victory.
While Kara talked to USA Today about wanting to win the race and not set a personal record, we are sure proud of her for taking 1:01 off her previous best time and a whopping 7:33 off her third place finish time from 2009. “I just want to win,” Kara told USA Today. “Sure, I would love to get a (personal record), but I would rather be the 2011 Boston Marathon champion than have some PR. Hopefully, I would break the PR someday. But no one else can ever be the 2011 Boston Marathon champion.”
Well Kara, for your performance and your focus on everything in life (not just the running) you may as well have been champion! And someday soon, you will be. Your drive, focus, effort, and passion for running and being the best and your fuel from Nutrilite will pave the way.
Here are a few good articles, including a couple videos of Kara after the race, to catch up on the details. Meantime, congratulations Kara on a fantastic run. See you in Nashville for the Country Music Marathon in a couple of weeks…
